RSI

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is a momentum indicator that measures the speed and magnitude of recent price changes to evaluate overbought or oversold conditions. It ranges from 0 to 100.

  • > 70 ( Overbought): Price has risen rapidly; market may be due for a pullback or consolidation.
  • 50 ( Midline): Above 50 indicates bullish momentum; below 50 indicates bearish momentum.
  • < 30 (Oversold): Price has dropped sharply; market may be due for a bounce.

The calculation of RSI is identical across all timeframes (typically set to 14 periods), but the noise level, reliability, and trading use cases vary significantly.
