This project designed several digital interactive installations for the Qualcomm branding in San Diego, CA. We wanted to create a variety of interactive installations to highlight the company's core technologies.
My role in this project includes initial conceptual design, 3D rendering in Cinema 4D, 3D printing in MakerBot, physical prototype set up.
Qualcomm develops semiconductors, software, and wireless technology services. Since their core products aren't directly accessible to individual customers, they wanted to create interactive devices to help people better understand their brand. The goal is to showcase Qualcomm's chip technology in a simple and engaging way, allowing customers to connect with the brand more easily.

The Qualcomm Storywall is an interactive display featuring various products made with Qualcomm chips. It includes a sliding electronic screen that lets users view the internal structure of each product under x-ray, highlighting the chip's location and providing product details. The goal is to showcase the wide range of Qualcomm chip applications and promote the brand. This 1:1 scale physical prototype was programmed in TouchDesigner for the interactive effects.
The Core prototype was a physical model, simulating part of a lobby structure at a 1:2 scale. The frame was made with steel bars, LED light strips, and tracing paper. Low-resolution LED strips displayed the company's icon using light particles. The animation effect was created in After Effects and mapped onto the LED strips using TouchDesigner.
